TUCSON, Ariz.---  Competing in the Dickie V Clay Court Classic this weekend will be junior Jason Jaruvang and freshmen David Mushayev (Azor, ISRAEL). The tournament provides a familiar setting for the Wildcats, as this will be their third straight year participating in the tennis event.

First and second round of singles action begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning, followed by doubles action after. Jaruvang (4-3 singles) and Mushayev will be competing in doubles action together for the first time this season, as Mushayev also looks to clinch his first singles victory of the fall.


 
 

               

        Eliran Epstein, Saint Peter's University

  Eliran Epstein (Nahariya, ISRAEL) , a sophomore Economics Major at Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, NJ, was on the victorious 400 freestyle medley team in the November 8th meet against Manhattan and Montclair State.  Eliran also finished in 3rd place in the 50 free and 100 free races.

                 Tal Hanani, Michigan State

    Swimming at the Northwestern TYR Invitational, freshman Tal Hanani (Beit Leham HaGlilit, ISRAEL) finished 2nd in the 200 IM event for the Michigan State Spartans.  The Spartans finished the day in 2nd place, trailing host Northwestern.

Israeli Swimmers Help Florida Tech In Rankings

 Florida Tech is currently ranked 10th in D2 Men's NCAA Swimming and 18th in D2 Women's NCAA Swimming according to the web site www.collegeswimming.com.  With four Israelis on the roster, the team gets it biggest push from sophomore Dar Raz (Ramat Gan, ISRAEL), who has been named Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week earlier this month and has set 3 new school records in the butterfly, backstroke and team medley events.   Raz has qualified for the NCAA Championships with 'B' cut times in the 100 yard backstroke and 200 yard freestyle.  Another top member of the team is Nir Barnea (Omer, ISRAEL), who has been a part of the FIT victorious relay teams (200 medley and 400 free).  Also on the team are Oz Wasserman (Yehud, ISRAEL), an IM/Freestyle swimmer who is majoring in Software Engineering and a honor roll student along with newcomer Neta Saar (Haifa, ISRAEL), a distance specialist.
